What stood out to me during my first few outings with the camera was how naturally it fit into my routine. The grip feels secure, the controls are easy to reach, and the body has enough substance to feel reassuring without becoming a burden during a day out. Paired with the zoom lens, it gives me a versatile setup without requiring a large bag full of equipment.

Color reproduction has been one of my favorite aspects of the experience. Fujifilm's color profiles give me plenty of character straight out of the camera, especially when photographing foliage, street scenes, and everyday moments with friends. I enjoy being able to choose a different look depending on the mood I want, rather than spending ages adjusting every file on my computer.

The included lens covers a useful range for everyday photography. I can frame a landscape, capture a group at a gathering, or zoom in a little for portraits without constantly changing lenses. Its variable aperture is something to keep in mind when shooting in dim surroundings, but in daylight and ordinary indoor conditions, it has been a practical partner for casual and travel photography.

Low-light performance has been satisfying for my usual needs. Indoor gatherings and evening scenes come out nicely when I pay attention to exposure and keep the camera steady. The in-body stabilization is especially helpful when shooting handheld at slower shutter speeds, although it cannot freeze a moving subject on its own. I appreciate having that extra assistance when I want to leave the tripod at home.

Focus tracking has also made photographing moving subjects less stressful. Whether I'm following a pet around the house or capturing candid moments outdoors, the camera generally responds quickly and keeps up well. I still take care with my focus area and composition, but I spend less time worrying about missed opportunities and more time anticipating the moment.

Video is another reason I enjoy reaching for it. The footage looks detailed, and the flip-out screen makes recording myself or filming from awkward angles much easier. Having microphone connectivity and useful stabilization options adds flexibility for personal projects, travel clips, and short videos. The menus offer plenty to explore, so there is a little learning involved before every setting becomes second nature.

Battery life has been a welcome improvement for my longer outings compared with smaller cameras I've used in the past. I can spend a good portion of the day photographing and recording without feeling immediately tied to a charger, although extended video sessions and frequent screen use still consume power. The electronic viewfinder and articulating display give me useful choices for composing shots in different lighting conditions.

What makes the setup satisfying is how well it balances still photography and video without feeling overly complicated to enjoy. There are enough physical controls and customization options to grow with my skills, while the familiar shooting modes make everyday use approachable. I can take it on a weekend trip, bring it along for family occasions, or use it for creative projects at home. It has become an enjoyable camera to reach for whenever I want more control and creative freedom than my phone provides.

Taking it out for a weekend of travel made me appreciate how easy it is to carry and handle. The grip feels secure, the controls fall naturally under my fingers, and changing settings while shooting feels intuitive. Having the 16-50mm lens included also makes the kit practical for everyday scenes, portraits, food, and casual outdoor shots without constantly swapping lenses.

I have been impressed by how confidently it handles moving subjects and dimmer rooms. Focusing is quick and dependable, while the stabilization helps keep handheld shots steady when I am shooting at slower shutter speeds. Battery life has also been reassuring during longer outings, and the electronic viewfinder and tilting screen give me useful ways to frame shots from different positions.

Video has been another pleasant surprise, with the camera feeling comfortable for handheld clips and casual content creation. The controls are responsive, the body feels sturdy without becoming tiring to carry, and the lens range covers most of what I normally photograph. For a small mirrorless setup that can handle both stills and video, it has become an easy camera to reach for whenever I head out.
