The wide aperture has made a noticeable difference in my everyday photography, especially when I head out in the evening or take pictures indoors. I can get a pleasing separation between my subject and the background without needing to rely on artificial lighting. Colors look pleasing, and the results have a character that suits the way I like to photograph.

Manual focusing feels comfortable, with enough resistance to make small adjustments without overshooting my target. I appreciate being able to slow down and fine-tune focus when composing a careful frame. It takes a little practice to get consistent results at F/1.2, but the extra control makes the process enjoyable rather than frustrating.

Low-light performance is one of the strongest reasons I reach for it. Dim cafes, evening walks, and rooms with window light are much easier to photograph without pushing the ISO too far. The wide aperture also gives me more freedom to experiment with shallow depth of field, creating a clear focal point while keeping the surrounding scene soft.

Build quality has left a positive impression on me. The lens feels solid in my hands, and the focusing ring has a reassuring feel during use. It balances nicely on my Fujifilm camera, although it takes up more space than a small everyday prime. For the kind of photography I enjoy, the extra size feels like a fair trade for the creative options it provides.

I have also enjoyed using it for casual video clips. Manual focus lets me control transitions between near and distant subjects, and the bright aperture helps when recording indoors. I do pay closer attention to focus placement at wider settings because the depth of field can be quite narrow, particularly when my subject moves around.

For photographers who enjoy deliberate composition, available-light scenes, and a more hands-on approach, the experience has been rewarding. It may not suit every situation, especially when fast focusing is important, but its rendering and low-light flexibility make it a useful creative tool. I find myself reaching for it whenever I want to slow down, pay attention to the details, and make more intentional photographs.
